Top Three WeFill Zero Waste Products to Kick Off a Greener 2021

Posted by Jennifer Mooney on

Looking to ditch those plastics and go back to the classics? We’ve compiled a quick and dirty top three must have zero waste products in your home right now! These items definitely punch above their weight in terms of their usefulness, versatility and plastic waste prevention!

Damselfly Creative Organic Bulk/Produce Bags

Made in Squamish, with organic, unbleached cotton muslin. These zero waste bulk and produce bags with elastic toggles are simply awesome. Pack these along on your grocery store visits and refill with most kinds of produce and bulk food items.

Like all of our products at WeFill, they also have a long life cycle and can be washed and reused again and again for many years and eventually composted.

The smallest size is perfect for fresh herbs and spices while the largest is great for root veggies and potatoes or delicate lettuces so they don't get scrunched. Fantastic for bulk items such as nuts, dried fruits, legumes, lentils and popcorn too!

Once home, transfer goods into glass or other sustainable and reusable containers for longer storage. Sold in sets of 6 (2 small, 2 medium and 2 large), and sets of 3 are available too.

Did you know? A single reusable produce bag will keep 200-400 plastic produce bags out of the landfills and ocean during its lifespan and its natural fabric can be composted.

NoTox Life DISH BLOCK

Unscented dish blocks are an amazing alternative to traditional liquid dish soap. Cuts through grease and dirt easily and made from all natural vegan ingredients.

Multi-purpose! They can even be used for cleaning laundry stains, taking labels off of jars or spot cleaning carpets. Each block can last up to 9-18 months, depending on how often you wash and the type of brush/scrubber/cloth you use.

How does it work?

Scrape dishes to remove excess grease and food into a compost bucket. Wet dish or pot brush or Swedish sponge cloth and rub on Dish Block™ to form suds. Wash items and rinse well. Works in warm or cold water. For pots and pans, we recommend the use of a stiff pot brush or scourer. WeFill stocks both dish and pot scrubbers too!

Keep in an open dish and allow it to dry between uses. Try not to let soap blocks sit in water for best use and longevity.

Lastly. Dish Blocks aren’t just zero waste kitchen winners but they are also the ethical choice as well, since they are made with all vegan ingredients, are palm oil-free, cruelty-free and 100% biodegradable.

Did you know? Concentrated dish blocks are also big winners for the environment. Unlike traditional dish soap that is mostly water, dish blocks are lighter and more easily transported, lowering the overall carbon footprint of this amazing product.
